On 6 December at 19:00 the administrative center of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the city of Salekhard, will host a concert featuring the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev, with soloist Denis Matsuev
On December 4, 2023 Valery Gergiev, serving as the General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and as the Artistic and General Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, was elected Co-Chairman for the musical division of the Theatre Union of the Russian Federation. This significant appointment was made at an extraordinary congress of the Union.
On 8 and 9 December at 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM the historic stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will host the first ballet premiere of the season – Anyuta, set to the music of Valery Gavrilin. This upcoming performance marks the first stage production of the ballet in St Petersburg following its original television version created in Leningrad. The choreographer and director of this production is Vladimir Vasiliev, People's Artist of the USSR
Starting 1 December 2023, Valery Gergiev, Artistic and General Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, will also assume the role of General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre.

In December the ballet troupe of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will perform in the capital of Qatar, Doha, for the first time. The Qatari audience will have the opportunity to witness the ballet A Thousand and One Nights composed by Fikret Amirov and choreographed by the Artistic Director of the ballet troupe, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Eldar Aliyev. The performances will take place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) from the 5th to the 8th of December
