At a ballet evening, ballet soloists and artistes of the Mariinsky Theatre will be performing works by choreographers from different dance schools and choreographic styles. The programme includes Anton Dolin’s Pas de quatre, a memoir in miniature of the great stars of the Romantic era – Marie Taglioni, Carlotta Grisi, Fanny Elssler and Lucile Grahn, the pas de trois from the ballet Die Puppenfee by the Legat brothers, the duet from the ballet Cinderella by Konstantin Sergeyev, Mekhmeneh-Bahnu’s monologue and the adagio from The Legend of Love and George Balanchine’s Tarantella. The 19th century will be represented by the rarely performed cachucha from the ballet Le Diable boîteux and a series of pas de deux from the ballets Don Quixote, Le Corsaire and Giselle.
Dancers engaged for the performance include Maya Dumchenko, Sofia Gumerova, Alexandra Iosifidi, Nadezhda Gonchar, Elena Yevseyeva, Andrei Batalov, Andrei Ivanov.
