Andrei Yermakov – a rising star

The Spirit of Dance prize, founded by the board of Ballet magazine together with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, has been awarded on an annual basis for twenty years to Russians for their contributions to dance and choreography. Previous recipients include outstanding choreographers and teachers, managers of the country’s dance ensembles and designers of ballet productions, critics and festival organisers, stars of classical ballet and those who have created vivid images in contemporary and folk dance. Among those who have already won the Spirit of Dance prize in the category Rising Star are Daria Pavlenko (2001), Viktoria Tereshkina (2005), Vladimir Shklyarov (2008), Oxana Skorik (2012) and Timur Askerov (2012). The prize-giving ceremony will take place on 30 April 2014 at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre.
