About the performers

The Boris Netsvetaev Trio, also known as the Hammer Klavier Trio, was founded by Boris Netsvetaev in 2002 with the participation of Philipp Steen (bass) and Kai Bussenius (percussion). The ensemble's style may be characterised as a unique blend of modern jazz, classical, funk, hip-hop and electronic music.
The group's repertoire consists of original compositions by Boris Netsvetaev and arrangements of works from different eras and styles (among them – Trio Op. 100 by Schubert, Radio-Activity by the band Kraftwerk and Electric Relaxation by the band A Tribe Called Quest).
The musicians have appeared in concerts at towns throughout Germany and other European countries. A video recording of a performance by the trio at the festival Überjazz (2010) was nominated by the Association of Jazz Journalists for the prize "Best Jazz Video of the Year". In 2011 the ensemble appeared at the prize-giving ceremony of the Jazz Journalist Association in New York.
The group's discography includes the albums Now I Know Who Shot J.F.K. (Altrisuoni, 2008) and Rocket in the Pocket (JMR, 2012).
