Nastasia Khrushcheva: “In this subscription series audiences will be presented with works by composers of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, including very young composers. I will be speaking about totally new music, its images, the way it ‘plays’ and its meanings. Moreover, contemporary works will be paired with music from the past, as if in confirmation of Igor Stravinsky’s phrase about how an artist’s true calling was to “refit old ships.”
Nastasia Khrushcheva (1987–) is a composer and pianist. She is a member of the Union of Composers and holds a first higher degree in art history. Teaches at the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire and the Russian Christian Academy of Humanities (history course in foreign music). Nastasia Khrushcheva’s works are performed both in Russia and abroad (Sweden, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Great Britain); they have been published by the companies Periferia Sheet Music (Barcelona) Kompozitor (St Petersburg).
