About the performers

The ensemble Tecora Rogers and the Chicago Spirituals (USA) was founded in 2003 by Tecora Rogers, a professional singer and researcher of the styles of gospel and spirituals. Each year the ensemble tours throughout the USA and Europe. The ensemble has given highly acclaimed concerts in Moscow and St Petersburg.
In September 2014 St Petersburg jazz maestro David Goloshchekin invited the ensemble to perform at the St Petersburg Jazz Philharmonic. The concert took place with the support of the US Consulate General.
In October the same year the ensemble took part in the XIV International Conservatoire Week festival in St Petersburg. The musicians performed at the Glazunov Small Hall and ran a master-class in the history of the gospel and spirituals genres.
