Vadym Kholodenko to perform at the Mariinsky Concert Hall

Vadym Kholodenko (piano) will perform with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev at the Mariinsky Concert Hall on 26 March. Sergei Prokofiev’s Fifth Piano Concerto is to be performed. In November 2016 the pianist performed this work of Prokofiev with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev at the Prague Philharmonia to great critical acclaim. ”Kholodenko’s performance combines power and pressure with fluidity and inclination to deep thinking. He is resolute, precise and engrossed in music. In this concerto where the piano and the orchestra are soldered together to such extent, all the musicians play as a single organism. What a sound, what a spirit!” – Bachtrack.

Vadym Kholodenko is a winner of multiple International competitions, including one of the most prestigious of them, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (2013). Today he performs with the greatest orchestras of the world in Austria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Germany, Greece, Italy, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, the U.S., Israel, China and Japan. His 2016/17 season engagements include a performance with the London Symphony Orchestra, performances with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, a tour of Asia and a Washington debut.

Vadym Kholodenko will also appear at the Mariinsky Concert Hall on 22 April to perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano in C major (Triple concerto) with Alena Baeva (violin) and Alexander Buzlov (cello).
