On 4 and 5 September the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev will be performing at the State Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, with which the Mariinsky Theatre plans to collaborate intensively in the coming years.
On the first evening, under the baton of Valery Gergiev the Mariinsky Orchestra, Opera and Ballet will present a grand gala concert including arias from the operas Samson et Dalila by Saint-Saëns, Eugene Onegin, The Queen of Spades and The Maid of Orleans by Tchaikovsky, highlights from Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo and Juliet. The concert will feature Kristina Shapran, Timur Askerov and Sergei Skorokhodov as well as prize-winners at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition Yulia Matochkina and Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar. The event will be attended by participants of the I Eastern Economic Forum. The following day the musicians will give a concert for pupils of music schools and social rehabilitation centres, veterans and invalids as well as members of the region’s various artistic ensembles and pupils and teachers of educational institutions including children’s arts schools and the Vladivostok Presidential Cadet School.
