One of the Mariinsky label’s most recent releases, the disc which features three piano concerti by Dmitry Shostakovich and Rodion Shchedrin and which went on sale in February 2012, has been listed among the nominees for the prestigious International Classical Music Awards in the “Concerto” category. This disc was recorded by the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev together with internationally acclaimed pianist and longstanding Mariinsky Theatre partner Denis Matsuev. The prize-winners will be selected by a respected jury consisting of leading music critics and will be revealed early next year. The awards ceremony and winners’ gala concert will take place in Milan on 18 March 2013. | ||||
