Vitaly Musarov


French horn

Vitaly Musarov was born in a musical family in 1979. In 1994 he graduated from Children’s Music School No 33 in St Petersburg’s Primorsky District. The same year, he entered the St Petersburg Musorgsky School of Music (class of Anatoly Musarov) while in 1998 he entered the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Andrei Glukhov, People’s Artist of Russia). During his studies at both the school and the conservatoire he appeared at all-Russian and international competitions and was a grant-recipient of the St Petersburg City Government’s programme Young Talents. From 2000–2012 he worked in the French horn section of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg Shostakovich Philharmonic, Honoured Ensemble of Russia, and from 2012–2013 he was a soloist with the State Academic St Petersburg Capella.
Since 2013 he has been a member of the French horn section of the Mariinsky Orchestra.
