That totally amazed me as before that all of my experiences had been a kind of common search.

This laconic intermezzo is like a “halt in the desert” (to use a poetic image of Joseph Brodsky), in a desert of loneliness, in a “vale of tears,” in search for the meaning of life.
15. Rachmaninoff. Franck. Shostakovich
The first musical idea of the sonata is in the colourful Major-key ninth chord, the sound of which Franck literally is in love with, not hastening to settle it in a steady assonance – he creates a link with Debussy’s yet-to-be-written searches in harmony.

Sizova’s staggering individuality combined with the dancer’s capacity and adaptability in lyrical roles also adorned numerous contemporary productions from those years; Alla Sizova brought the image of Ophelia to life in Konstantin Sergeyev’s Hamlet, she was involved in the creation of Igor Belsky’s Leningrad Symphony, and the search for new expressive means came for the ballerina in ballets by Oleg Vinogradov – as Princess Rose in The Enchanted Prince and as the Fairy of the Rond Mountains in the eponymous ballet.

20. The season at the Mariinsky Theatre is now closed
The already traditional Mariinsky Theatre festivals were held – two rounds of the International Piano Festival at the Mariinsky-II and the Concert Hall, the first featuring an audience vote for the first time as well as the presentation of an “audience favourite” award to young pianist Behzod Abduraimov; the Maslenitsa festival; the MARIINSKY ballet festival, which this year ran the second Creative Workshop of Young Choreographers that allows the results of young choreographers’ artistic searches to be presented to audiences and new names to be discovered; and, finally, the XXII Stars of the White Nights international festival.
