Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Theatre’s Tour in Paris

On 22 September and 23 September, the leading soloists of the Mariinsky Opera, the Mariinsky Chorus and the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev are scheduled to take part in the Week-end Wagner held at the Philharmonie de Paris. The two soirée concerts will see a concert performance of Richard Wagner’s operas Siegfried and Götterdämmerung, which conclude the cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen started during the previous tour of the ensemble in Paris in March 2018.

On 22 September, the lead roles in Siegfried will be performed by Mikhail Vekua (Siegfried), Andrei Popov (Mime), Roman Burdenko (Alberich), Elena Stikhina (Brünnhilde), Yevgeny Nikitin (Wotan), Mikhail Petrenko (Fafner), and Zlata Bulycheva (Erda). The following day the vocal parts in Götterdämmerung will be performed by Tatiana Pavlovskaya (Brünnhilde), Mikhail Vekua (Siegfried), Roman Burdenko (Alberich), Olga Savova (Waltraute), Elena Stikhina (Gutrune), Yevgeny Nikitin (Gunther), and Mikhail Petrenko (Hagen).

The Mariinsky Theatre’s ensemble performances will be the highlight of the vast programme dedicated to Richard Wagner at the Philharmonie de Paris. The programme also includes lectures, workshops, family concerts and special events for children.
