Iolanta Primorsky Stage Performance Live Broadcast in the Run Up to ХVII Moscow Easter Festival

On April 8, in the run up to the ХVII Moscow Easter Festival, the soloists of the Mariinsky Opera, Mariinsky Chorus and the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev will present a concert performance of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera Iolanta on stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow, 12 am). Main parts will be sung by Irina Churilova (Iolanta), Migran Agadzhanyan (Count Vaudémont), Alexei Markov (Robert), Stanislav Trofimov (René, King of Provence) and Roman Burdenko (Ibn-Hakia). Live broadcast from the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall will be organized in collaboration with the Moscow Philharmonic for the Far East and other regions of Russia which are participating in the All-Russian Virtual Concert Hall project. In Vladivostok, the performance will be shown at the Small Hall of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Later on the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre will take part in the symphonic programme of the ХVII Moscow Easter Festival. On April 11, the soloists, Chorus and Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre conducted by Valery Trubin-Leonov together with the Combined Choir of the Primorsky Metropolitanate (choirmaster Lyudmila Makarenko) will perform at the Grand Hall of the Primorsky Stage. The Orchestra and Chorus of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre under the baton of Pavel Smelkov will perform on April 21.

Just a reminder: ХVII Moscow Easter Festival will run from April 8 till May 9 2018 with the support of the Moscow City Government, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The 17th season will be one of the longest-running and largest in the history of the Festival; the record-setting musical marathon will run for 32 days. The musicians of the Mariinsky Orchestra and Valery Gergiev plan to travel a distance of more than 20,000 kilometres and reach around 30 cities and towns of Russia.
