Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre Receives BraVo International Music Award

March 11 saw the 1st BraVo International Classical Music Awards ceremony on the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre won the award for Best Concert/Theatrical Venue.

“Today the Mariinsky Theatre is the largest theatrical complex of classical music in the world. And I am not only talking about the historic Mariinsky Theatre, but also about the wonderful concert hall in St Petersburg, the Mariinsky stage in Vladikavkaz and, of course, one of the most modern concert venues around the globe – the Primorsky Stage in Vladivostok,” – said Russia's culture minister Vladimir Medinsky.

The Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre was established on January 1, 2016. More than 500 remarkable artists performed on the Primorsky Stage over the last two years. The Mariinsky Opera and Ballet soloists, the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev, as well as Vladimir Galuzin, Maria Guleghina, Diana Vishneva, Ulyana Lopatkina, Natalia Osipova, Vladimir Shklyarov, Albina Shagimuratova, Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet, Seong-Jin Cho, Leonidas Kavakos, Lorenz Nasturica-Herschcovici and many others have taken part in repertory performances and concerts at the Primorsky Stage. Today the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre is one of the most actively developing concert and theatrical complexes in the world.
