A concert in memory of Yoko Nagae Ceschina

On 5 January the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre will host a concert in memory of Yoko Nagae Ceschina, a harpist and patron of the arts, thanks to whom many Mariinsky Theatre projects have been realised.

The Renaissance Percussion ensemble and soloists of the Mariinsky Orchestra Sofia Kiprskaya (harp) and Yuri Afonkin (viola) will perform the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo (arranged by Vyacheslav Kruglik), highlights from Antonio Vivaldi's cycle The Seasons (arranged by Vladislav Ivanov), Alberto Ginastera's Harp Concerto (arranged by Vyacheslav Kruglik) and Deborah Henson-Conant's The Nightingale, as well as popular themes from films arranged for electric harp, percussion and viola.

The Mariinsky Theatre's annual Northern Lyre festival is also dedicated to Yoko Nagae Ceschina.
