A December tour by the Mariinsky Ballet

In December the Mariinsky Ballet will be on tour in Switzerland, Italy and Germany. In Lugano in Switzerland and in Turin in Italy there will be performances of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov (revised version by Konstantin Sergeyev), while in Baden-Baden (Germany) where the Mariinsky Theatre traditionally tours in the Christmas period there will be an intense programme featuring several productions.

On 9 and 10 December there will be two performances of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake at the Lugano Arte e Cultura centre (LAC). The lead roles will be performed by Oxana Skorik and Ekaterina Kondaurova (Odette-Odile), Xander Parish and Timur Askerov (Prince Siegfried) and Konstantin Zverev and Roman Belyakov (von Rothbart). The Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana will be conducted by Gavriel Heine.

The Mariinsky Ballet will then set out for Italy. From 13 to 19 December at the Teatro Regio Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake will be presented by four casts. The roles of Odette-Odile and Prince Siegfried will be performed by Oxana Skorik and Xander Paris (13 and 16 December), Anastasia Kolegova and Yevgeny Ivanchenko (14 and 17 December, matinee), Ekaterina Kondaurova and Timur Askerov (15 and 19 December) and Olesya Novikova and Filipp Stepin (16 and 19 December, both matinees). The performances will be accompanied by the Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Regio under Gavriel Heine.
