On 14 October the Mariinsky label will be releasing a new disc in Super Audio CD format featuring recordings of works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky performed by the Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev.
Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony and music from the ballet The Nutcracker were recorded at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre in 2015 when there were celebrations to mark one hundred and seventy-five years since the composer's birth.
The new release is available exclusively from the shop Apple Music and iTunes.
The disc may be pre-ordered on the official website of the Mariinsky label.
This release will be the fifth release of music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky produced by the Mariinsky recording label; previously the label has released the 1812 Overture, the Moscow cantata, the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Symphonies, the First Piano Concerto with Daniil Trifonov and the First and Second Piano Concerti with Denis Matsuev.
