Lucas Debargue and the Mariinsky Orchestra to perform Rachmaninoff

On 3 October at 19:00 at the Concert Hall, together with the Mariinsky Orchestra there will be a performance by Lucas Debargue, a prize-winner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition. Zaurbek Gugkaev will be conducting.

The programme of the evening, dedicated to Sergei Rachmaninoff, includes his Second Piano Concerto and Second Symphony.

Lucas Debargue, acclaimed as a "revelation" at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition and a recipient of the Prize of the Association of Moscow Music Critics, has already performed on several occasions at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre. A significant proportion of his repertoire is taken up by Russian music, and Sergei Rachmaninoff, as the pianist himself admits, is one of his favourite Russian composers.
