On 18 July Valery Gergiev will be conducting the Munich Philharmonic as part of the prestigious BBC Proms music festival (London). This year marks two decades since Valery Gergiev’s first appearance at this festival.
The programme of the concert at the Royal Albert Hall includes Maurice Ravel’s Boléro, Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto (soloist Behzod Abduraimov), Galina Ustvolskaya’s Third Symphony with Alexei Petrenko, People’s Artist of Russia, as the Narrator and the suite from the opera Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss.
The BBC Proms festival is one of the largest international music forums in Great Britain. Each year from July to September it brings together the world’s finest musicians at London’s greatest venues. For its 122nd season the BBC Proms festival will present more than ninety classical music concerts over eight weeks.
