On 3 July at 14:00 at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre there will be a concert by grant-recipients of the Atkins Young Artists Program. Yevgeny Akhmedov (tenor), Alexander Mikhailov (tenor) and Dmitry Grigoriev (bass) will appear with the renowned concert-master and teacher Craig Rutenberg, a consultant for grant-recipients of the Atkins Program at the Mariinsky Theatre.
The programme of the concert, the end result of a series of open master-classes held in the Stravinsky Foyer (Mariinsky-II) from 27 to 29 June, will feature arias and songs from works by Giuseppe Verdi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sergei Prokofiev, Jules Massenet, Gaetano Donizetti, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Stefano Donaudy and Georgy Sviridov.
This new educational project, established in 2015 and supported by Valery Gergiev, aims to support young opera singers at the start of their professional careers. The programme’s grant-recipients will have the opportunity to hone their skills with singing teachers, concert-masters and coaches of international repute, take part in master-classes and travel to train.
The project has been made possible thanks to the financial support of Veronica Atkins (USA).
