On 13 and 14 July the Mariinsky Ballet and Orchestra will be performing at the festival in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
On an annual basis the summer festival in Ljubljana attracts artistes and musicians from across the globe. This year the major theatre and music marathon, the largest, oldest and most important theatre festival in Slovenia, is being run for the sixty-third time and will last more than three months.
The Mariinsky Theatre will be taking the ballet Romeo and Juliet to Ljubljana. The lead roles in the tour performances will be performed by Viktoria Tereshkina and Vladimir Shklyarov (13 July) and Yekaterina Osmolkina and Maxim Zyuzin (14 July). The role of Mercutio will be performed by Dadid Zaleyev (13 July) and Alexei Timofeyev (14 July) and Tybalt will be danced by Dmitry Pykhachev. The Mariinsky Orchestra will be conducted by Boris Gruzin.
