The Mariinsky Theatre in New York

From 14 to 25 January the Mariinsky Theatre will be presenting its productions at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York.

The tour programme of the Mariinsky Theatre opens on 14 January with Rodion Shchedrin’s opera The Enchanted Wanderer. The lead roles will be performed by Kristina Kapustinskaya, Sergei Aleksashkin and Andrei Popov; Valery Gergiev will be conducting. The performances by the Mariinsky Theatre will continue with Swan Lake featuring Viktoria Tereshkina and Vladimir Shklyarov (15 January), Ulyana Lopatkina and Yevgeny Ivanchenko (16 January), Yekaterina Kondaurova and Timur Askerov (21 January) and Oxana Skorik and Xander Parish (22 January). In New York there will be three performances of Alexei Ratmansky’s version of Cinderella. The lead roles will be performed by Diana Vishneva and Konstantin Zverev (17 January), Anastasia Matvienko and Alexander Sergeyev (18 January) and Nadezhda Batoeva and Vladimir Shklyarov (20 January). The tour programme also features an evening of ballets to paino music by Frédéric Chopin during which American audiences will discover Michel Fokine’s Chopiniana (the lead roles to be performed by Oxana Skorik, Timur Askerov and Yana Selina) as well as Jerome Robbins’ In the Night and Benjamin Millepied’s ballet Without.
