Dear Patrons, we are delighted to present the programme for for the XXII Stars of the White Nights music festival. This year festival events will be held at venues including the Mariinsky Theatre, the Mariinsky II, the Concert Hall and the Mariinsky II’s four chamber halls.
Over nine weeks from 28 May to 31 July the festival will present some two hundred performances and concerts including two opera premieres – Hector Berlioz’ Les Troyens (28, 29 and 30 May) and Sergei Prokofiev’s War and Peace (15 and 16 July), both to be conducted by Valery Gergiev, as well as two ballet premieres – An Evening of Ballets by Hans van Manen (featuring four one-act works by the great choreographer, 15 and 17 June) and Marguerite and Armand with choreography by Frederick Ashton (8 and 9 July).
