On 25 October Konstantin Zverev will make his debut as Siegfried in the ballet Swan Lake.

Константин Зверев

Konstantin Zverev has an aristocratic appearance and physique that are ideal for a classical dancer. His repertoire already includes a variety of roles in classical ballets, such as Albrecht in Giselle, the Prince in The Nutcracker and Basilio and  Espada in Don Quixote. The dancer’s popularity at the theatre today, however, is due to more than just his success in the classics.

Last week Konstantin Zverev made an acclaimed debut as the fervent Romeo, a dramatically intense role that demands extreme emotionality. Zverev also has a fine sense of contemporary choreography: his duets with Diana Vishneva in Alexei Ratmansky’s Anna Karenina and Angelin Preljocaj’s Le Parc were revelations to St Petersburg’s dance world. Moreover, the dancer has given stunning performances in choreography by William Forsythe.

In Swan Lake on 24 October recent Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet graduate Sofia Ivanova-Skoblikova will be making her stage debut in the important role of one of the Prince’s Friends.
