Maestro Gergiev will be conducting the concert, organised by the John Nurminen Foundation, at the Helsinki Music Centre. Funds raised from ticket sales will be used for programmes to purify the waters of the Baltic Sea. On 26 February Valery Gergiev will be performing with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. The programme includes Jean Sibelius’ First Symphony and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto. The performance, Valery Gergiev’s first appearance at this concert venue, will be dedicated to charitable purposes. All funds raised from ticket sales will be donated to the John Nurminen Foundation and subsequently used for programmes connected with protecting and purifying the waters of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland. |
