Valery Gergiev will be holding an autograph session for the first time at the Concert Hall on 22 February

On 22 February, following a performance of the opera Das Rheingold at the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre Valery Gergiev will be holding an autograph session. The public will have a unique opportunity to get the maestro’s autograph on the Mariinsky label’s most recent release – a recording of Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre.
Die Walküre is the first recording from Wagner’s tetralogy Der Ring des Nibelungen under the baton of Valery Gergiev to be released on the Mariinsky label. It was released on 11 February and has already received glowing reviews from respected critics and music publications.

The recording of Die Walküre is available at the music kiosk in the foyer of the Concert Hall.

The international press on the Mariinsky label’s recording of Die Walküre:
This recording is unparalleled among other Wagnerian recordings of recent years.

The Russian orchestra and opera company are often phenomenal, and maestro Gergiev’s almost physical sense of the score ensure a perfect revelation of the tetralogy’s dramatic and musical essence.

Wagner is rising in the East. An incredible number of years have passed since we last awarded a recording from Wagner’s tetralogy the Diapason d’or.
Diapason

Fauvist colours, the volcanic orchestra and hitherto unknown drama of the atmosphere.
