A tour by the Mariinsky Ballet to Japan

From 15 November to 2 December the Mariinsky Ballet will be performing in Japan. In four cities there will be thirteen performances with the tour programme including the ballets Swan Lake, La Bayadère and Anna Karenina as well as a gala concert.

On 15 November at Bunkyo Civic Hall in Tokyo the tour opens with La Bayadère featuring Ulyana Lopatkina as Nikia, Danila Korsuntsev as Solor and Yekaterina Kondaurova as Gamzatti. 

On 17 November the same venue will host a performance of Swan Lake starring Oxana Skorik and Vladimir Shklyarov.

On 18 November in Nagoya at the Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater Diana Vishneva and IgorvKolb will be performing in Swan Lake

On 20 November at the Fuchu-no-Mori Art Theatre Ulyana Lopatkina will be performing as Odette-Odile in Swan Lake opposite Yevgeny Ivanchenko.

From 22 November the Mariinsky Ballet will be performing at the Bunka Kaikan Concert Hall in Tokyo, where there will be performances of all the ballets in the tour programme. There will be two performances of Anna Karenina, with Diana Vishneva (Anna), Konstantin Zverev (Vronsky) and Islom Baimuradov (Karenin) on 22 November and Ulyana Lopatkina, Andrei Yermakov and Viktor Baranov on 23 November.

At the same venue, on 24, 25 and 26 November the Mariinsky Ballet will be performing La Bayadère with three different casts: Yekaterina Kondaurova (Nikia), Yevgeny Ivanchenko (Solor) and Elena Yevseyeva (Gamzatti) on 24 November, Oxana Skorik, Vladimir Shklyarov and Elena Yevseyeva on 25 November and Diana Vishneva, Igor Kolb and Yekaterina Kondaurova on 26 November.
On 27 November Ulyana Lopatkina and Danila Korsuntsev will be dancing the lead roles in the ballet Swan Lake, while on 29 November there will be a further two performances of Swan Lake with Oxana Skorik as Odette-Odile and Alexander Sergeyev as Siegfried (matinee) and Yekaterina Kondaurova and Igor Kolb (evening performance).
On 1 December the ballet Swan Lake will be performed in Nishinomiya at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center with Oxana Skorik and Timur Askerov in the lead roles. 

On 2 December there will be a final gala concert of the Mariinsky Ballet at the Bunka Kaikan Concert Hall in Tokyo. The concert programme includes Leningrad Symphony to music by Dmitry Shostakovich with choreography by Igor Belsky and Svetlana Ivanova and Igor Kolb in the lead roles, Riccardo Drigo’s Harlequinade with choreography by Marius Petipa with Nadezhda Batoyeva and Alexei Timofeyev, Grand Pas Classique (music by Daniel Auber, choreography by Viktor Gzovsky) with Anastasia Nikitina and Timur Askerov, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux by George Balanchine with Maria Shirinkina and Vladimir Shklyarov, the Pas de deux from the ballet Le Corsaire with Oxana Skorik and Andrei Yermakov, The Beginning, a miniature by Vladimir Varnava and Igor Kolb to music by Erik Satie, the Diana and Actéon Pas de deux from the ballet La Esmeralda by Cesare Pugni, Riccardo Drigo and Agrippina Vaganova featuring Elena Yevseyeva and Kim Kimin and “Paquita” Grand Pas by Ludwig Minkus with choreography by Marius Petipa starring Ulyana Lopatkina and Danila Korsuntsev.
