Twenty-five years at the Mariinsky

1 November 2012 marks twenty-five years since Olga Borodina, People’s Artist of Russia, embarked on her performing career at the Mariinsky Theatre.

Since making her debut at the theatre as Siébel in Charles Gounod’s opera Faust, Olga Borodina has performed basically the entire lead mezzo-soprano repertoire at the world’s greatest opera houses and concert halls. The recipient of numerous prizes, among them the State Prize of the Russian Federation and a Grammy in the category “Best Classical Album”, Olga Borodina continues to delight her admirers with her outstanding talent by scaling new heights in her dedicated service to the arts.

For St Petersburg fans of the singer’s talent, on 27 December 2012 she will be appearing at the Concert Hall as Lyubasha in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Tsar’s Bride.
