A debut by Yekaterina Kondaurova

On 20 September Mariinsky Theatre prima-ballerina Yekaterina Kondaurova will be performing in Benjamin Millepied’s ballet Without for the first time.

On 20 September the Mariinsky Theatre will present its audience with a dazzling chain of three one-act ballets – Carmen-Suite (music by Georges Bizet-Rodion Shchedrin, choreography by Alberto Alonso), Without (music by Frédéric Chopin, choreography by Benjamin Millepied) and Le Jeune homme et la mort (music by Johann Sebastian Bach, choreography by Roland Petit).

One of the jewels in that chain will be a new role for prima ballerina Yekaterina Kondaurova in the ballet Without. Her astonishingly rich and natural dance combined with her femininity and beauty allow Yekaterina Kondaurova to add many tints and shades to the palette of solo roles in the classical and contemporary repertoires. The ballet Without is an ideal medium for this brilliant dancer to showcase new facets of her skill – light, cinematographic and filled with a sensation of love as if created to eulogise dance as a natural element of passions and emotions.
