Russia’s Culture Minister attends the opening of the season at the Mariinsky

Russia’s Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky attended a performance of Musorgsky’s opera Khovanshchina conducted by Valery Gergiev at the opening of the season at the Mariinsky Theatre.
 


 

On 18 September Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, came to the opening of the Mariinsky Theatre’s 230th season. Before the start of the performance, Vladimir Medinsky and Valery Gergiev gave a short briefing to the press, answering several topical questions including the matter of the time frame for the opening of the Mariinsky’s second stage.
