![]() | Daniil Trifonov has become the second pianist to feature on the Mariinsky label, which has already produced two discs featuring recordings by Denis Matsuev.
Daniil Trifonov’s disc features a recording of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto together with the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev in addition to solo works by Tchaikovsky and Chopin and Liszt’s versions of pieces by Schubert and Schumann.
27 August saw the release of the disc in SACD format, and it will also be available on iTunes (exact dates of the release will depend on your region). Discs may be ordered on the official website of the Mariinsky Theatre’s label. The disc comes with a twenty-four page booklet including annotations in Russian, English, German and French.
