The legendary Pokrovsky Ensemble was founded thirty-five years ago by Dmitry Pokrovsky, an outstanding musician, scholar and recipient of the State Prize of the USSR. Songs performed include military, festive, comic and ritual songs, masterpieces of Russian lyrical chant, romances and limericks.
