Susan Tang


Violin

Born in 2004 in Belgium, Susan Tang received her first musical education by her father, internationally-renowned conductor Muhai Tang, and her mother, a celebrated Korean pianist. She began to play the violin at the age of six and performed a Vivaldi concerto with the Austrian Arpeggione Kammerorchester when she was nine. Since then, Susan has played works by Bach, Vivaldi, Schubert, Saint-Saëns and Mendelssohn to great acclaim with various orchestras in China, including the Shanghai Philharmonic, the Tianjin Symphony and Tianjin Philharmonic, as well as the Frankfurt Festival Orchestra and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. In 2014 the China National Orchestra invited her to play the Butterfly Lovers’ Violin Concerto at the Great Hall of People in Beijing. Susan studies under violinists from her childhood, such as Robert Bokor, Chief Conductor of Arpeggione Kammerorchester, and Xiaoming Wang, Concertmaster of the Zurich Opera House / Philharmonia Zurich. Currently, she is continuing her education at the Music Middle Schools affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
