Elena Luferova


Violin

Elena Luferova was born to a musical family in Leningrad. She began to study the violin at the age of five. In 1997 she graduated from the Special Middle School of Music of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Nelya Sklyarskaya). The same year, she entered the conservatoire itself, graduating from the violin class of Professor Alexander Stang, Honoured Artist of Russia. Joined the Mariinsky Orchestra in 2002; she is currently leader of the second violins.
