Born in Murmansk. Graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire and completed a post-graduate study and assistantship (class of Professor Novichenko).
Made her Mariinsky Theatre debut as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) in 1995.

Tatiana Pavlovskaya has performed at the world’s leading opera venues, among them the Metropolitan Opera (New York), the San Francisco Opera, the Washington Opera, La Scala (Milan), the Alte Oper (Frankfurt), Carnegie Hall (New York), the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and the Bayerische Staatsoper in addition to appearances at international festivals in Ravenna, Salzburg, Baden-Baden, Cincinnati, Glyndebourne and Cagliari (Italy).
Tatiana Pavlovskaya also took part in a gala concert at Buckingham Palace together with Plácido Domingo and the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev.
Tatiana Pavlovskaya currently appears together with many internationally acclaimed ensembles including the Philharmonic Orchestras of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Munich, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Moscow Virtuosi ensemble, the West German Radio Symphonieorchester, Radio France’s Orchestre Symphonique and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Brazil. She has performed under such outstanding conductors of the present day as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Temirkanov, Semyon Bychkov, Mikhail Pletnev, Heinz Fricke, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Ion Marin and James Conlon. In the 2009-2010 season she took part in a performance of The Infernal Comedy starring John Malkovich.
Critics have commented on Tatiana Pavlovskaya’s vocal style as delicate and, at the same time, sensual and rich in shading and semitones, giving a deep quality to vocal compositions which inarguably means she is one of the present day’s most outstanding performers; the singer’s voice has been compared with the rich and intense flavour of “fine chocolate” (The New York Times).
Tatiana Pavlovskaya is represented by major recording companies including Deutsche Grammophon, Philips, DECCA, Dallas Records, OEHMS Classics, ArtHaus Musik, the Mariinsky label and Glyndebourne.
For her stage work, Tatiana Pavlovskaya has been nominated for prestigious international prizes including a Grammy (2001, for the role of Sofia in Sergei Prokofiev’s opera Semyon Kotko) and a BBC Music Magazine Award (2011, for the role of the Foreign Princess in Antonín Dvořák’s opera Rusalka.)
