Lydia Bobokhina was born in Ust-Nera (urban locality in Oimyakon District, Yakutia). Graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory in 2002 (class of Grayr Khanedanian).
During 2002–2018 she was a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. Made her Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2003, appearing as a Touriere in Suor Angelica.
Since January 2018 she has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Opera Company.
