Anna Kiknadze’s Carmen was a worldly, life-loving woman unaware of her impending doom. This was evidenced by the intoxicatingly enchanting timbre of her intense mezzo-soprano voice with its unique qualities. Anna Kiknadze was an absolute natural in this role.
