Mariinsky Theatre Guest Soloist

Yevgeny Chernyadiev was born in Yoshkar-Ola in 1981. In 2008 he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Nikolai Okhotnikov).

Between 2008 and 2017 he was a soloist at the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatory.
Yevgeny made his Mariinsky Theatre debut in 2015 in the opera El Juez (Los Niños Perdidos).

Has sung in premiere performances of Mariinsky Theatre productions of A Christmas Tale (2015), Salome (2017), I vespri siciliani (2017) and The Snow Maiden (2020). In 2015 he has appeared at the world premiere of Pyotr Gekker’s opera The Damned Apostle and at the Russian premiere of Christian Kolonovits’ opera El Juez (Los Niños Perdidos).

His repertoire also includes: Vasily Sobakin (The Tsar’s Bride), King René and Bertrand (Iolanta), Prince Gremin (Eugene Onegin), Prince Gudal (The Demon), Balda (The Tale of the Priest and His Workman Balda), Bertrand (The Maid of Orleans), Dr Grenville (La traviata), Drago (Genoveva), Peter (Christus am Ölberge).

Yevgeny appeared at the St Petersburg festival All Together Opera in productions of Don Giovanni (Commendatore), The Queen of Spades (Surin), The Golden Cockerel (the Voivode Polkan), Carmen (Zuniga). In 2017 at Moscow’s Rachmaninoff Concert Hall (Philharmonia-2) he participated in the premiere of Victor Kramer’s musical-dramatic project Fortunatissimo or Hopelessly Happy Man based on Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia and Beaumarchais’ Le Barbier de Séville (music by Rossini and Kuzma Bodrov).
