Stanisław Zięba


Lighting Designer

Has designed the lighting for numerous opera and ballet productions. Among his most interesting works, including productions for the Polish National Opera at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw, are Wagner´s Der Ring des Nibelungen (staged by August Everding) and The Queen of Spades and Katerina Ismailova (staged by Lev Mikhailov). Has worked with such renowned choreographers as Yuri Grigorovich (The Sleeping Beauty in Genoa and gala concerts in Poland) and Oleg Vinogradov (Cinderella), as well as with the majority of Poland´s leading opera and theatre directors, among them Kazimierz Dejmkiem, Marki Weiss-Grzesinski, Aleksandr Bradini, Maria Foltyn and Mariusz Treliński.
Has worked with opera and ballet companies all over the world (Mazepa, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty and Khovanshchina at the Palace of Congresses in Paris and Giselle and Zorba the Greek in Greece).
Currently heads the lighting department with the Polish National Opera at Warsaw´s Grand Theatre where he has worked since 1954.
