Elizaveta Ukrainskaia was born in 1996 in Offenbach am Main, Germany. In 2011 she graduated from the St Petersburg City Children’s Music School named after S.S. Lyakhovitskaya (class of Vera Ovcharova), in 2015 – from the Secondary Special Music School of the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Lyubov Rudova), in 2020 – from the conservatory itself (special piano class of Alexander Sandler, chamber ensemble class of Elena Semishina, accompanist class of Elena Spist), and in 2022 she completed an assistant traineeship there under Alexander Sandler. Elizaveta has sharpened her artistry through masterclasses held by Arie Vardi, Dmitri Bashkirov, Miroslav Kultyshev, Konstantin Scherbakov, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Barry Douglas, Gottlieb Wallisch, Willem Brons, Alexander Mndoyants, Andrea Bonatta, Sir András Schiff, Dmitri Alexeev, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Klaus Hellwig, Till Fellner, Joaquín Achúcarro and Rena Shereshevskaya.
She is a laureate of the European Piano Competition Bremen (2016; 1st prize and three special prizes), the James Mottram International Piano Competition (Manchester, 2018; 1st prize), the Youth Delphic Games of Russia (Rostov-on-Don, 2019; Gold Medal), the Palma d’Oro International Piano Competition (Finale Ligure, Italy – Donzdorf, Germany, 2021; 1st prize and three special prizes) and the All-Russian Music Competition (Krasnoyarsk, 2022; 2nd prize). In 2022 Elizaveta received the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Prize of the Piano Academy Eppan (Appiano sulla Strada del Vino, South Tyrol, Italy), and in 2021 and 2023 – special prizes at the Verbier Festival (Switzerland). In 2024 she won 2nd prize and special prizes for the best performance of a Baroque work and a sonata in the classical category at the Unisa International Piano Competition (Pretoria), and in 2025 – 1st prize and the Audience Award at the Sendai International Music Competition (Japan).
Since 2015 she has been a soloist with the St Petersburg Music House, and since 2021 – a resident of the Musicians’ Club of the Myasnikov Mansion in St Petersburg. Ambassador of the Russian Piano School project (since 2025).
Elizaveta performs solo, with orchestras and in ensembles across Russia, Austria, the USA, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, France, Croatia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland, Estonia, Japan, the UAE and South Africa. She regularly plays at the Mariinsky Theatre.
Has collaborated with such conductors as Alexei Aslanov, Alexander Dmitriev, Alexander Kantorov, Adrian Prabava, Anatoly Rybalko, Alexander Skulsky, Alexander Titov, Alim Shakhmametyev, Alexander Chernushenko, Arkady Shteinlucht, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Dimitris Botinis, Zaurbek Gugkaev, Igor Manasherov, Conrad van Alphen, Ken Takaseki, Maxim Fedotov, Oliver Weder, Pavel Bubelnikov, Robert Spano and Fabio Mastrangelo among others.
She teaches at the Department of Special Piano and the Chamber Ensemble Department of the St Petersburg Conservatory.
