Swiss flutist Sébastian Jacot is recognised as one of the leading artists of his generation and is one ofvthevmost sought-after flutists on the international stage.

He began his career at the age of eighteen as Assistant Principal Flute of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under Edo de Waart, after studying with Jacques Zoon in his hometown of Geneva.

Went on to serve as Principal Flute of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig from 2015 to 2022, and from 2022 to 2024 at the Berliner Philharmoniker.

A 1st-prize-winner at the Kobe, Nielsen and ARD (Munich) international flute competitions, he has since developed an active international career as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.

His recent appearances as a soloist include performances with the NHK Symphony Orchestra under Herbert Blomstedt, the Mito Chamber Orchestra and the Cameristi della Scala. He also collaborates regularly with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Saito Kinen Orchestra and the Camerata Pacifica ensemble.

Alongside his performing career, Sébastian Jacot is a dedicated pedagogue, giving masterclasses worldwide, teaching at the Universität Bremen and Berlin’s Karajan-Akademie, and he will join the Haute école de musique de Genève as Professor of Flute from 2026.

Beyond music, his artistic identity is shaped by a strong connection between body and sound. A former ice-skating champion and trained acrobat, he brings a distinctive physical awareness to his playing.
