Nikita Ignatov was born in 1993 in Penza Region. Graduated with distinction from Moscow Military Music School and subsequently from the Military Institute (for Military Conductors) of Military University (class of Anatoly Maltsev and later the class of Maxim Fyodorov). During his studies at the institute, he was a prize-winner at conducting and piano competitions, wrote his first orchestral works, and produced brass band and ensemble arrangements; for his artistic and research work he received a grant from Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation.
Prize-winner at the International Music Competition dedicated to Stravinsky (St Petersburg, 2024; 1st prize in the conducting category).
Captain-lieutenant (2023). Upon completion of his studies Nikita was appointed Military Conductor of the 236th Artillery Brigade. From 2019 to 2021 he was Military Conductor of the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base, since June 2021 he has been Director of the Admiralty Orchestra.
Teacher of additional education of the children’s brass band Silver Trumpets (St Petersburg).
