Olga Melnikova


Born in St Petersburg.
Graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 1989 and joined the Leningrad Kirov Theatre of Opera and Ballet (renamed the Mariinsky Theatre in 1992) the same year.
Since 2000 she is a soloist with the Semperoper Ballet (Dresden), Principal dancer since 2007.

In 2008 she graduated with a Bachelor in Art of Ballet from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
Since 2010 also she has been a ballet mistress with the Semperoper and a Guest Teacher with the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden.
Since 2011 Professor of classical dance at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden.
