Anna Kostanian


Born in Armenia.
Graduated with distinction in 2006 from the Yerevan State College of Dance. Joined the Armenian Academic Spendiarian Opera and Ballet Theatre as a soloist the same year.

Repertoire includes: Kitri (Don Quixote), Gayaneh (Gayaneh; choreography by Vilen Galstyan), Carmen (Carmen; choreography by Armen Grigorian), Aegina (Spartacus; choreography by Yuri Grigorovich), Lorkiana (revised version by Marks and Marquina), Stabat Mater (choreography by Rudolf Kharatian), Juliet (Romeo and Juliet, choreography by Berta Yampolsky), Symphony in C (choreography by George Balanchine), the Lilac Fairy (The Sleeping Beauty), Chopin Dances (choreography by Krzysztof Pastor), Dos amores (choreography by Christian Spuck) and lead roles in Berta Yampolsky’s ballets Harmonium, Written in the Sand, Xta and Mendelssohn Concerto.
From 2008-2011 she was a soloist with the Israel Ballet, touring with the company around the world.
On numerous occasions Anna Kostanian has taken part in and won international modern dance championships in the categories “Latin-American Dance” and “European Dance”. The ballerina has also received bronze awards at the Golden Ferry festival (Sochi, Russia) and the Delphi Games (Ukraine).
Anna Kostanian graduated from the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, specialising in choreography; her creative biography thus includes several dance variations, both classical and contemporary.
