Hat Maker
Born in Spain, currently resides in Genéva, Paris and Montpellier. She entered the profession in 1984, after training at Switzerland´s Haute Mode School, and opened a workshop in Genéva in 1988. She has worked at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Opéra Bastille in Paris, throughout Europe and in the USA. She frequently works with set designers including Olivier Beriot, Patrice Cauchetier, Rudy Sabounghi, Catherine Leterrier, Elsa Pavanel, Louis Bercut, Roberto Rosello, Gilles Lambert, Carine Serfaty, Lili Kendaka, Philippe Guillotel, Eric Jeanmonod and Claudie Gastine. In addition to opera, she also works in circus and on popular shows; for several years she has designed the hats for Holiday On Ice and the Knie Brothers´ National Swiss Circus. She first worked in film in 1998 (Luc Besson´s Jeanne d´Arc); she subsequently went on to work with Gérard Corbiau, Brian de Palma, Eric Neumann, Jonathan Demme, Frédéric Auburtin, Jean-Paul Rappeneau, Alain Chabat, Coline Serreau etc. Additional activities include conceiving and producing hats in fascinating materials and styles for prêt-à-porter collections of Christian Lacroix, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Givenchy. Her hats are sold in Japan, the USA, France and Italy. For several years she has worked alongside Mireille Dessingy, designing hats for numerous productions.
