Costume Designer
After working in several couture houses in Paris, in 1999 Laurent
Mercier established his own company and presented fashion shows, first
during the prêt-à-porter fashion week first and later at the haute
couture event. The House of Pierre Balmain engaged him as its
prêt-à-porter art director, and following Oscar de La Renta´s
departure, Laurent Mercier also assumed control of haute couture.
Building on this rich experience, Laurent Mercier presents haute
couture collections and also designs for other brands. Laurent Mercier
has rich experience in designing costumes for stage and film. He has
created Lenny Kravitz´s costumes for more than six years, in addition
to many years of fruitful collaboration with choregrapher and dancer
Blanca Li.
