After graduating from the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Carmen Amaya in Madrid, Juan Bockamp danced in Germany, obtaining the role in the state companies of Cottbus, Würzburg and Plauen–Zwickau. He worked with choreographers such as Nils Christe, Anna Vita and Oded Ronen. Has been choreographic assistant for The Love for Three Oranges for the Aalto-Theater in Essen. Continued his studies at the Instituto Universitario de Danza Alicia Alonso in Madrid and at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden. He is a scholar of Stepanov notation working on ballets from the Petipa heritage via historical documents. Currently he works as a pedagogue in Madrid and gives lectures in international conferences related to dance research.
