Regina Rustamova was born in Baku. In 2008 she graduated from the Hajibeyov Baku Academy of Music.

Since 2008 she has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. Regina made her Mariinsky Theatre debut in May Night in 2009.

Her concert repertoire includes solo parts in Bach’s Mass in B minor and St Matthew Passion, Mozart’s Requiem.

Repertoire also includes: Polina (The Queen of Spades), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Lyubasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Hanna (May Night), Rosina (Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia), Princess Eboli (Don Carlo).

In 2010 Regina performed the role of Carmen at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Baku). In 2012 she took part in the Virtuosi Brasil festival at the Teatro de Santa Isabel (Recife), where she appeared in Cavalleria rusticana (Santuzza) and Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde. In 2014 Regina performed the role of Romeo at the premiere of Alexei Stepanyuk’s production of I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abay (Almaty).

In 2018 she sang Fenena at the premiere of Yefim Maizel’s production of Nabucco at the Chaliapin Festival in Kazan. In 2019 Regina performed the role of Amneris (Aida) at the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2020 she appeared at the St Petersburg International Festival All Together Opera, singing the part of Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and in 2021 at a gala concert of world opera stars Classics at the Palace Square (St Petersburg).

Regularly performs at the Larisa Gergieva and Guests festival (Vladikavkaz), the Stars of the White Nights festival (St Petersburg) and the Moscow Easter Festival.
In 2014 she was invited by Kultura TV to take part in the filming of the project Grand Opera.

Has toured to Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Brazil, China, Turkey and Kazakhstan.

Has appeared with renowned conductors including Plácido Domingo, Tugan Sokhiev, Ion Marin, Peter Feranec, Leon Botstein, Daniel Smith, Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, Renato Balsadonna, Giuseppe Sabbatini, Fabio Mastrangelo, Federico Santi, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Alexander Titov and Mikhail Tatarnikov.
