Graduated from the Nikolaevsk State High School of Music as a choral conductor and subsequently from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (classes of Nikolai Okhotnikov and Olga Kondina).
In 2011 he joined the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers.

Concert repertoire includes solo roles in Bach's Johannespassion, Mozart's Requiem, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Rossini's Messa di Gloria and Radvilovich's Judas. Passions.
Together with the singers of the Academy he has performed Shostakovich's Orango under Esa-Pekka Salonen in Stockholm and Helsinki and at the BBC Proms festival in London (2014–2015 season).
He took part in concert performance of Spadavecchia's The Gadfly, Dzerzhinsky's And Quiet Flows the Don and premiere of Kollontai's The Captain's Daughter.
Ivan Novosyolov also appears in productions for children in the Prokofiev Hall: The Brave Hare, Town Musicians of Bremen.
