Anna Matis


Mezzo-soprano

• Prize-winner at the Maria Maksakova Open All-Russian Young Vocalists' Competition (Astrakhan, 2016, 2nd prize and Special Prize for "Best Performance of a Work by Tchaikovsky").

Anna Matis was born in Kamchatka. In 2012 she graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Nice (France), class of Elisabeth Vidal. From 2012-2014 she trained at the opera studio of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Renata Scotto. From 2015-2017 she studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre under Makvala Kasrashvili. As a student, she appeared as Marta (Iolanta), Larina (Eugene Onegin), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Carmen (Carmen).

In 2017 she received a grant from the Wagner Society, which affords young performers the opportunity to appear in Bayreuth.

Since 2018 she has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers.

In December 2018 she performed the role of Amneris in the premiere of a new production of Aida at the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Branch of the Mariinsky Theatre.

Took part in a concert performance of the opera Servilia at the Mariinsky Theatre's Rimsky-Korsakov Festival.
